It looked like a full house for sharks and they needed to play some of the game to try and justify keeping everybody's money
I note there was no offer of a refund but instead that the tickets could be used next time they play Riders

It was virtually a full house And the sharks took the opportunity to play great basketball, which was a much better standard than could be mustered by the Riders The sharks thoroughly deserved to be well on top The riders were a shadow of what I expected them to be

You can only conclude the standard of the league this year has been watered down

The BBL are clearly embarrassed by the whole incident, why else would they remove the Youtube footage of the first quarter???

The Sharks haven’t ruled out refunding - this depends on the outcome of discussions between themselves, the Riders and the BBL.

I’m afraid that it’s all down to sharks. I buy a product that didn’t do what it says. I return it and get a refund. Sharks may not be able to do anything about the venue but it’s their venue. Full refund to fans including travel expenses and pay riders expenses. Simple as.

So does this set a precedence
Any team has the right to challenge the facilities, and if at anytime during the game the team deem they are not happy with things they can unilaterally decide not to continue
So challenging the refs to abandon the game and have it replayed plus all the surrounding spin offs of refunds etc
Riders were the ones who insisted the court was washed twice
The refs then passed the court fit to play on
The riders then unilaterally decided they would not continue & forced the refs to abandon the game
This could be a good tactic if losing now the precedence has been set

No riders refused to take to the court
They obviously run the BBL
The Sharks and the refs were on the court for the start of the second qtr

No riders refused to take to the court They obviously run the BBL The Sharks and the refs were on the court for the start of the second qtr I watched the YouTube coverage. Players from both teams went down. I also watched when the game was abandoned - both teams were in their own huddles and the refs were in the middle (away from the players) making the decision. Don't think anyone is arguing they made the wrong decision Sharks have said it was a decision for the safety of the players The court wasnt safe to play on. Simple as that.
